Overview
Large Organisations can should create value for their stakeholders. But from time to time a major organisation’s failure reminds us that organisational discipline cannot be taken for granted. A lack of corporate governance, including weak boards of directors, overbearing Chief Executives, and group-think by advisers, can contribute to the under-performance of these organisations. This dynamic 6 day training programme will pull together some of the common themes around corporate governance and draw lessons from the many examples. It will look at the need for the checks and balances in company structures. The course has a major focus on how management can implement sound corporate governance policies. Delegates will also be taught to develop a professional and best practice approach to the development of the internal audit function in private and public sector organisations and enterprises. The second part of the Workshop will address issues of International Protocol and Etiquette. It also addresses how to deal with others in a business setting taking into account differences in culture and region. Since business is often conducted over lunch or dinner, dining skills can also impact someone’s opinion of you as a potential business partner. You will also get tips on how to apply proper manners and business etiquette in many different settings. In addition, many diplomatic ‘incidents’ occur due to the personnel’s lack of understanding of various protocol standards. Delegates from state-owned enterprises, universities, NGOs as well as those in the private sector will gain value from time spent on this programme.
